Partnership Studies Benefits of Indoor Play Centers
Indoor play sessions, which are typically two hours in length, provide well in excess of a child’s recommended 60 active minutes of exercise.
Research has shown that children, who are regularly involved in active play, develop well on many levels. The idea behind soft play is for children to use their imagination and get involved in exploratory play within a controlled environment. Play is a vital part of a child’s development - how to interpret, imagine, create, interact with others, explore, develop movement and dexterity skills, be fast, slow, loud, quiet, resourceful and so on. It provides social, emotional, intellectual and physical development. Soft play also provides an ideal opportunity for children with disabilities to experience the freedom to play. Multi sensory stimulation can enhance mental and physical development. The benefits of physical exercise have long been recognised and, even for babies and toddlers, it’s an important part of their development.
The soft play apparatus at Zippy's Playworld is as the name suggest, soft so that it’s safe for children to play on. There are 3 multi-levels of play activities, including climbing frames, slides, ball pools, crawl tubes, rope bridges, roller squeezes, balance boards, dizzy discs and interactive, educational activities. Children can dive in and get exploring on their own, with friends or interact with other children who are already there and playing. Active and exploratory soft play helps children learn new motor skills in a fun and stimulating environment. It helps develop physical activity and encourages children to enjoy exercising, but as it’s essentially playing it feels fun and exciting for them.
